Nick Smith should ‘brush up his Shakespeare – particularly the scene where there is a debate about the ownership of a certain ‘pound of flesh’.

You cannot ‘merge’ economics and environmental issues, economics is only about aquisition of goods, whereas ultimately the environment is about our continued existence.

History is littered with societies which failed to address resource issues, and all died out with coin in hand.

We are now running that experiment on a global scale, and as British Prime Minister Gordon Brown pointed out – “there is no Plan B”.
