homework for a busy week

I’ve got a busy week this week, and won’t have time for much blogging. This is a tad ironic – given the mining announcement, and some recent idiocy (check out Michael Laws’ little spleen-vent in the SST for a classic example of idiocy).

So, here’s some homework to keep you going.

Tipping Point: Near-Term Implications of a Peak in Global Oil Production

My week is rescue-boating, repairs and ancillary helping with the Secondary Schools regatta, and we just had the Ecohut opening , and…….  I have no idea how folk do all this and hold down a job too.  I’d never have the time…

I’ll see if I get time for a rave tomorrow perhaps. For the record, I don’t think the mining in DoC land will happen, given peak oil.

Here’s Sir Richard Branson’s take:

Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, whose rail, airline and travel companies are sensitive to energy prices, warned then that the coming crisis could surpass the credit crunch. “The next five years will see us face another crunch: the oil crunch. This time, we do have the chance to prepare. The challenge is to use that time well,” he said.

Hear hear…..
